Michael

I can't believe this little boy is 4 1/2!! It's going by way too fast. It's crazy and exciting and sad all at the same time. He's such a fun little boy who loves life! He spends his whole day pretending! He is very rarely sitting still, and it's usually when he's watching tv. He'll sit for about 10 minutes but then he's up trying to find a toy that he can use to reinact something he saw on tv. He's always making me laugh!
One day in August we were on a walk and I saw a sign that was advertising FREE hair cuts for children!! I don't usually walk in that direction but decided to change it up a bit that day. It was such a blessing that I walked by the sign. So we went in and got Michael's hair cut. It looks pretty dang cute!
In August we went to our county fair, and Michael actually got to talk to a real fireman!! Michael thought it was SO COOL! The fireman gave a little fire safey demonstration, taught Michael how to crawl out of a window in case there's a fire, and then let him try on his fireman gear!! I love how it's so huge on him! As soon as this picture was taken he took the jacket off. He said it was too heavy.

Michael has also started back at preschool this year. I've gotta say, it's HeAvEn!!! He goes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the afternoon, and he gets to ride the bus. What's also nice, is that while Michael is at preschool, Xander is taking his nap, so it's complete alone time for me....again, HeAvEn! Michael is doing really well at school and really seems to enjoy it. It's fun to see how he's changed in the few short months he wasn't going to school during the summer. He's so excited to show me the things that he brings home from school and will tell a thing or two of what he did during the day. He preschool also has a blog where they list the schedule and the activities they're doing, so that helps jog Michael's memory and he tells all types of things they do, and if he can't describe it, he'll show me with his body. It's really fun.

His speech is also improving. I've discovered that if I have him clap while trying to say a word, he'll do better with it. The biggest thing Michael struggles with is pronouncing the first letter in a word. For example, Fireman is said Hireman. Or Tractor is pronounced Hactor. A lot of words are replaced with a "huh" sound. So anyway, if he says Hireman, I'll say the F sound a few times in a row and then say Fireman. Then he'll repeat it back to me, usually ending with Hireman. But, if we clap while we say the F sounds, then he'll actually say Fireman more often. It's pretty exciting!

He recently discovered a neighbors bike and has grown quite attached to it. The problem? (Other than that it's someone else's bike) It's pink. So he'll be getting a bike for his birthday.

This picture makes me smile. It's just so totally Michael...
