A GOOD, Non-Depressing Update!

I've been meaning for a few days to give an update, since it seems like my last two updates have been kinda depressing. But first here are two pictures of Xander.

Things are going a lot better than they were during my last posts. Xander has really improved with his eating. We no longer have to visit the lactation consultant and we're not supplementing with anything. It's all me now! This is very good and it's reassuring to see him grow, but at the same time it's scary because we don't have the opportunities to weigh him every few days and have that reassurance that he's really growing like he should. I wish I could just measure how much he was getting, like we can when we give bottles.

Something that has really surpised us about Xander is that he's a spitter-upper! I HATE spitup! I think it's so gross and just yucky. But it looks like I might need to get used to it. He doesn't spit up with every feeding, but he does it about 2 or 3 times a day. Michael NEVER spit up, so I guess I had it pretty easy.

Xander also isn't quite the easy sleeper that he used to be. He's requiring us to hold him and rock him to sleep more often. This is frustrating! For the first few weeks we could put him in a swaddle, place him in the swing, and he'd go right to sleep. But now he's starting to fight it more. And then once we get him to sleep and put him down, he'll wake up a few minutes later and begin fussing.

Another thing that is surprising is that Xander LOVES his tummy! The first time I put him on his tummy, I expected him to start crying and get all fussy. But nope! He just layed there! A few times he has even fallen asleep during tummy time.

Michael really enjoys Xander (although I know it doesn't look like it in this picture, but its the best I have with the two of them together right now.) He loves to give him kisses and hugs and loves to touch his head, hands, and feet. He's a great helper and is pretty much always willing to run and get us a diaper or to help with getting him dressed. He's transitioned really well. I think he's missing the one-on-one time that he used to get before Xander came along, and is asking ALL--THE--TIME for us to play with him, with makes me feel guilty because I can't always play with him when he wants me to, but he's adjusting well, we think.
And one last thing, and the thing I'm most excited about, is my weight!!! I have lost ALL my pregnancy weight, plus an extra 5 pounds!!! It's so great! I don't know how I did this, but I really hope I can do it again with my next pregnancies. In a few weeks I can probably start wearing my pre-preggo jeans, and that will be great. I can fit in them now, but it's too tight with my c-section still. So I'm waiting for that to fully heal before I wear them again. And I can't wait, becuase the maternity pants are waaaay toooo biiig!!!!
Anyway, Xander is screaming for me now, so I better wrap this up! Thanks for reading if you've gotten this far!
P.S. Where'd all my commenters go?? I love your comments!! Please keep them up! They're the highlight of my day....isn't that lame!?
